How to Ping on a MAC?
To Ping a web address or an IP address with Mac OSX click the Finder to make it active and from the Go menu select Applications.
The Application window will open. double click the Utilities folder.
The Utilities window will open. Double-click on Network Utility icon.
Network Utility window will open. Click the Ping tab on the Network Utility window. In the field “Please enter the network address to Ping”, enter an Internet address or the IP address you want the Mac to ping. Select Send only [4] pings. Click Ping and the response will display in the box below.
